Inspired by entries in this site, and the deplorable yet entertaining antics at mylootyourtears. I resolved yet again to try strike out at can flippers and griefers. I have spent quite a few hours, with my main - mining away in a Vexor or an Exequror, but something about a 2006 toon mining in a cruiser in a belt doesn't encourage the locals.
So to this end I brought forth Saint Juliana, to strike righteous revenge on the piratical denzins of high sec.
I thought I would give some newbie pirates a surprise, and loaded a Bellicose with ancillary current routers. I wanted 4 midslots, so that I could fit a propulsion mod, dual webs, and a scrambler. To ensure nothing could escape my grasp. I fitted a Medium neut so that the helpless frigate would be capless - to let my 8 warrior 1 (some spare incase of getting webbed and killed), 2x dual 180mm autocannons and launcher chip away at them.
The extra grid rigs let me fit a 1600mm plate for my tank. A formidable opponent for any can-flipping frig. Well, I mined, and mined, a couple of days without response.
When this evening I decided to actively seek out the flippers myself, rather than let them come to me.

Saint undocked the Bellicose in Amarr, a bustling market hub, and scanned the nearby belts. A a few cans, hulk, arbitrator and a punisher (a notorious can flipper) on scan. Narrowing them down to a particular belt I warped in to assess the situation.
There was an arbitrator mining away with two mining lasers, and a can sitting along side. The punisher was lurking nearby, and the hulk rapidly left the area. I checked the corp details of the two pilots, while I began my own excavation of an asteriod. Nothing untoward, and no obvious friends in system.
The arbitrator locked me right away, and began some rather unsocial behaviour, bumping the Bellicose, mining my asteriod. And generally being a bastard.
My initial thought was that the punisher might be his pal, and that the arbitrator might act as a remote repair station for the formidable tank of the punisher if I engaged it.
So I thought I best even up the odds.

I quickly fitted a couple of T1 remote reps to my main Sanguine in his Arbitrator, and some medium repair drones. The Bellicose was made to kill frigs, not go toe to toe with an arbitrator, which doesn't need cap to do damage, and which has a much better tank.

By the time I had done this, and returned to Saint, I saw that the punisher had gamely tried to can flip the aggressive arbitrator, and had very rapidly been vaporised.

Well, with Sanguine entering system, I suppose I'll take a crack at it. I jettison a can, and sure enough the arbitrator flips it right away - and a hauler alt arrives and whisks my ore away almost instantly. Lock and engage. Hammerhead II's descend on Saint and rip through the shields of the basically stationary cruiser. I scurry to warp in Sanguine and get the reps on, but in the heat of the moment, the fleet menu is rather tricky to navigate. By the time he arrives, Saint is down to 50% armour, and the meager DPS of the Bellicose has just cracked the Arbitrators shields. Overload Reps, and armour repair bots are engaged.
Saints tank now holding, she continues to chip away at the arbitrator, now webbing his drones, and sending 4xwarrior 1's to ping away at them. He is too smart for that and recalls them, and considering he is at 200m from Saint, they are instantly deployed again. Saints Bellicose tank is holding barely, perhaps she can hold long enough to chip away at him? But the cunning arbitrator has neuts fitted, and the Bellicose's meager cap is now gone. As the damage control goes offline, and Sanguine too runs out of cap, she drops into structure. Damage control back online, another cycle of the remote armor repairer, but its too late. Pop goes the Bellicose.

The arbitrator by this time is at about 60% armour of what is clearly a buffer tank, and without hesitation he aggresses Sanguine.
Although it was a quick fit, Sanguine has a medium nos fitted, and 3 Cap rechargers. As well as a medium armor repper. So cap shouldn't be a problem this time around. I launch my own flight of Hammerhead II's and we go toe to toe. Sanguines armour is dropping, unable to quite tank the damage from the Hammerheads, but I have yet to overload. We slug away at each other, but I can see I have the upper hand. The aggressor hits structure first, I begin to overload at about 10% armour remaining. He pops with a satisfying explosion.

I give him a GF in local, but he is out of there, Amarr is full of spam anyhow.

An enjoying skirmish, I came out slightly ahead isk-wise due his collection of drones. My Bellicose was tripple rigged, which was a little excessive, and his arbi was tripple tri-marked. If I were to make a crime fighting Duo between Saint and Sanguine I would do away with the 1600mm plate and rigs, and add 2 x EAN and a damage control instead. And put t2 remote repps on Sanguine, as well as repping rigs so I could perma-run the cap. But it was a split second rapid fit with what I had in the hanger. I mean I COULD bring Sanguine in a RR Dominix, but where is the fun in that?

I would still pit the solo Bellicose against any frigs, probably even 2 frigs at once - with the fitting. But if people are game to can flip an arbi, maybe I should switch to them. Sure would make it easier.
Fun and games, I hope for many more.

It was getting late for where I live and the systems were thinning out as our prey docked for the night. Me and my fellow corpmate decided to go hunting for the late night ratter. Juan, my partner in crime, chimed out over teamspeak he had loads of activity in a system next door. I jumped in my ceptor to just check it out. Hmm... Tempest, Abaddon, Megathron, Mammoth, and Phoenix on scan. They appeared on scanner at a pos but the pos were seemingly devoid of any attachments. Sure enough, the pos was just being anchored, not online, no shields, no modules. Completely unprotected capital sitting at a moon!

Needless to say I burned the 166k towards the Phoenix, overloading my mwd to hit 10k. Unfortunately the phoenix warps off but the mega and abaddon stay. I rallied the troops in TS and they began the three jump journey. I landed and tackled the megathron, who decided to target paint me? The Abaddon engaged as well as I dart around like an annoying fly. I convo the Mega...
I have never agreed too much with Gallente ship design, always thought it to be too 'pretty'. The soft lines, a smooth bubbly forms... Put that Engineering effort into making a better Auto Cannon I say. But there is just something about the way that Thorax felt, that rush of power flowing in when all systems came online. I haven’t felt this way since my first Hurricane. Even the tight, swept back form of this vessel appealed to me. I continue to fantasize the killing potential in this craft until the proximity alerts go off.
Single Target in-bound. I had dropped out of warp less than fifteen seconds ago and already a target! Rifter class frigate. Thought spans in all directions, as my ship fires all engines, leans into a tight orbit, slips into partial warp with the Micro Warp Drive, and the concentration shifts to locking the target. All modules stand ready as my sensors pinpoint their target. I can feel my mouth water, I have to force I swallow.
Lock. A brief moment everything dims as all modules light off. Warp Scrambler, Statis Webifier, and Four Nosferatu modules. Almost as quickly, energy surges back in to the capacitors, bleeding the target dry.
The Drones, already armed, spill from their hiding place, blazing towards the target. Their first combined volley tears away the Rifter shields. No big accomplishment there, but when the second and third sear and char their way through the Rifter’s armor and into his hull I giggle. I command a ceasefire to the drones.
I hail my target. Two Hundred Thousand ISK. Short and sweet. I'm nervous at this point, I'd rather not become someone else's kill. This is taking too long. I start counting off over comms.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
... A reply. "1 second"
One Decimal Five.
One and One Third.
One Decimal One.
Another message, begging "I'm a new pilot"
Decimal Nine.
Decimal Five.
Zero.
The drones eagerly jump to life. Their first volley ignore what little shield recharge had occurred in the interval. Pieces of the Rifter go spewing in all direction as that one lucky round ruptures the Fusion Core.
The Escape Pod flies past my Thorax, already initiated into Warp. That's fine. There will be others.
I hit Warp again; I spent too long in that belt. Next time I'll know not to wait so long. After a few belts my mind wanders back to the plasma cloud burning freely from my last target. What beauty is to be found in destruction!
Proximity alert! My warp drive had already aligned to the next belt. Scanners already cleared their cache. What was that?
I stop in this belt and fire up the MWD. I want some distance between me and the opponent. Local comms start to chatter. I'm being hunted! The thrill sparks again. A whole new rush, not of the kill, but of the chase.
I let my eagerness gets the best of me. I allow my position to slip over comms, and within seconds a Rupture class cruiser warps in. With over 243km between us, I realize that I am still in control of this fight. Just then, some Angel Militia Pirate's warp in to investigate. My opponent quickly dispatches them. In fact, so quick that my surprise attack doesn't succeed. I couldn't align that fast.
The same dance begins. Lock. All systems initiate. Drones released. I hear the larger Auto Cannons of my opponent penetrating my shielding, tearing into my armor. Enemy Drones sending their Lasers into my hull, separating steel from structure. I increase orbit and try firing some Smart Bombs that I had fitted to shake the drones, open distance to prevent Auto Cannon damage, but it was too late. Modules and main systems alike were shutting down. Damage controls had failed and most of the ship had de-pressurized. Now I watch from my escape Pod as my Fusion Core erupts. I chuckle, as the odd tingle the Pod has in its warp shudders through me, and I make a clean getaway back home.
Once at a safe distance I pull my attacker up on comms. I thank him, now I know what to be cautious for, I have learned. One more lesson, one more step towards my destiny.

I return to station and browse the markets for my next combat ship. I run a few simulations for Capacitor Efficiency, Shield and Armor Durability, and Weapon Damage Outputs.
But before I have a chance to make any purchases, other pilots from my corporation send me a fleet invite. We have a war target trying to make his way towards Rens.
I ponder a moment. Haste requires a ship already fitted, in hangar, and ready to fly. I put out the alert, scramble my Jaguar for immediate departure!
The Hunt Is On!

Pator Tech. wasn't my first choice but then again, who ever gets their first choice in life? The day out from academy I used the last bit of isk I had (stolen) to buy a Reaper and a few fitting options. I set my NeoCom to monitor the "Recruitment" channel, where I would prove myself as the fiercest pirate in the galaxy and procure my fortunes and infamy.
I did meet up with a startup pirate corp, and went so far, far away to a system called "Jan" The galaxy was a lot bigger than I had imagined. Here I found out two things. One: T2 fittings and ships beat T1. And Two: I had no way to pay for or fly such things.
So my course was this- I make a fortune and pay for these things, and train constantly as hard as I could until I was the best! I invested in Learning Skills so I could train harder and faster than I supposed any other pilot could, and researched fitting schemes and money making ventures....
... I woke up. A year and a half later, there were foreign objects in the POD fluid, and I’m still aching from detox. I don't know where I am, no familiar stars are in view. I had been piloting the same ship class I had fantasized about, only it's scatted remains were in orbit with me around an unfamiliar moon. I rebooted my Navigation system and found that I was 44 jumps outside of any CONCORD presence. What I had been doing out here was still baffling me. I checked my comm systems, most of the data there was either encrypted or corrupted. A few sparse messages informed me that I had joined up with an alliance and then had been removed. My assets had been removed from my hangar and I was wanted. Infamy it seemed was not something I enjoyed. I'm not sure how I had escaped the same wrath the debris of my once proud ship had endured. That thought alone got my heart racing. Panic sobered me the rest of the way up and I stressed my ship systems in getting "home". I few close calls but thankfully my brain still knew how to fly this thing better than I ever remembered. I had dozens of "Books" downloaded that I cannot remember fully to this day, but I always seem to come up with the answer.
Lost and confused, I was accepted into a corporation to help with their industry concern. Oddly, I had also been trained in that too, although it bores me to no end.
Another year has passed. I have enjoyed the company of numerous pilots and been hired into a few corporations since. I finally have been accepted back into society and even get jobs from an agent or two from Brutor Tribe. I'm back in my homeland and it feels great...
...Until Yesterday.
The local channel fires up. A Pilot was upset that no one would "take his can" Producing such a challenge was not too smart, someone might take him up on it. I jump into my trusty Rifter. I open his can. Flagged for combat, his friends uncloak and I barely get my pod back into station. He laughs and informs me that if he had lost to a Rifter he would have quit flying.
Anger! Just like in those first long months. I have not felt this way in years. Only today, I have a generous account, the skill to fly ships of any race, and well, and the support of numerous other pilots.
I place a "Buy Order" on the markets for a Thorax. They have a deadly potential, and I have been researching other ships for more capabilities...

I will have my fleet, I will have my revenge. </3
I like miners. For one thing, they sit around dumping omber and plagiocase into cans all day, just for me to reorganize. For another thing, they fly Retrievers and Covetors and fit Modulated Strip Miner IIs, just for me liberate.
(This story's a little old, as I haven't gotten around to doing anything Eve-related for the past few months. Notice the nerf discussion.)
Our corporation had declared war on our target merely two days prior and so far, our kill count and reputation had gone through the roof. Already with seven prior kills to our name, one being a Caracal, we had put the fear of God into our enemy. Now, every time we entered a target system, our victims fled to the safety of the nearest station and either logged off or waited until the 2 or 3 members of their corporation who had battleships were able to jump in system. We could only wonder as to why they continued to refuse our ransom.

Sunday evening and I'm back home, eager to log on. 30k people online which means there are lots of people in empire so for me thats a good thing bringing more possible targets.
I chat a little in corp with the other guy in Oyst and then soon after I get another application, we are now 3 pilots which sets me in a good mood. A quick tour of the Cistuavert area shows that there not so many mining ops with a can and I end up back to Scolluzer. Belt 1 empty, bet 2 has a retriever can mining. I check the pilot (Norwegian| or something) and his corp and I figure he must be alone because the description of the corp says they are a small miner corp based in Metropolis. I chekc the attributes and they are under 10 people.

My vexor warp in, closes the gap, takes the can and all the ore becomes mine. 'My peanut' is how I call my cans . I see no reaction at first and decide to move on not feeling like hauling. Than local chat starts flashing. Norwegian| is ranting about me stealing his ore, the guys in local encourgae him for whatever reason and he starts threatening my life. All the other belts are empty and I set standings to his corp to better see if any are in local. He is alone.

I warp back in and he gets out 3 scout drones and gets himself flagged. I get closer, release hobgoblins, kill his drones, he is still threatening in local and calling me names. I start nosing him too and hitting him with my drones and blasters. He goes down, reaches hull and than he goes like: "No, not my ship !!!" I say nothing but call in the drones. Check local, still quiet. He goes: "Not my SHIP you Dick head" and I blow him up. Why the hell did he have to call me a dick head ? I get 2*strips and cargo expander 1. Dock and leave my loot and move on.

Local is flashing again and he is going nuts, he will kill me, he will obliterate me, so on and so forth. I'm apparently a TWAT besides being obviously a dick head. Local guys start telling him o cald the heck down and leave it be and soon they change sides being obviously anoyed.
I warp back to the belt and find him there in a Celestis (the tech 1 gallente ew cruiser). My peanut is gone and he took back all the ore. I get closer and he gets out 3 drones again, this time meds. I use nos, web, scram, blasters, kill his med drones with my hobgoblins and procede to kill him. Than I think I should try and randsom. Convo him, he accepts, I say 'Hi', it's a randsom and he has '30 secs to pay up 2 mil'. He says nothing. I ask again,he doesn;t even say 'hi' back. I blow him up.

It turns out form local chat with other people and him (I never said a word in local after the dick head and twat calling because I didn;t feel it was worth it) that he was so sure he would kill me that he did not insure his celestis and he had no more isk for a mining cruiser, he was back at frigs.

I scored 3.5 mil isk from the barge and cruiser loot. I had a laugh being first time called names in local. Too bad he was so sure I was gonna die.
"The only thing constant, is change." That quote seems so true as i enter my Thorax on this night. Its so different than the first time i entered it nearly 8 months ago. It feels more.. Comfortable. I am at home in it, and the fittings have been changed, tech 1 is all gone, the entire ship is now tech 2 or high named. And my skills support it.

I remember when i engaged a Celestis the day that i purchased my first thorax, he had me so jammed all i could do was watch my first cruiser explode, i learned alot that day. Its interesting because now i engage Battlecruisers and expect to come out the victor.

So on this night, just for old times sake, i decide to do something that i havent done in months.

I leave 0.0, I decide to belt pirate. Its been so long, the closest to piracy i have done is camp a few lowsec gates in battleships, but today i purchase and outfit a pure T2 and High named Thorax, i hope you enjoy reading about my interesting night as much as i enjoyed writing it.
Well, I'm sorry for not publishing an article in a long time, but I've been very busy. Well, you'll hear all about it.

So I took a little break from pirating to get some money. I was doing missions....eww. Me and my friend ended up starting a corp. Bla bla bla. It was going well, but I decided I couldn't pirate for a while. We had quite a few newer players, and if we got wardecc'd, it wouldn't be good for them.

So anyway, I'm getting totally fed up with missions, so I took out a rifter to rat.

So I'm ratting. Same ol' same ol'. Orbit at 10km, turn on my SBII, and my guns. Then I chat.

Zzzzzz

After while, I switch rats.

Zzzzzz

Then, someone with low sec status warps in on me. My heart starts pumping harder and harder as he locks me. I'm back in business.
