I am a pirate and I am the most ruthless kind. A true pirate through and through. I only care about getting a lot of good kills, loot, and ransom by any means. I play eve to blow stuff up. I don’t care about people’s feelings and I’m not bound by some higher moral code in this video game. My loyalty is to my friends, my corp, and my alliance and no one else. I think role players and carebears are generally weak and pathetic and most pirates agree with me. I think these mislead kinds of mentalities are something to be ashamed of, where as they would probably feel the same about pirating.

I’ve been in one of the most ruthless pirate corporations and alliances in eve and I have come to tell of one of the most hilarious pirating stories I can remember, because everyone loves a good laugh.
Our whole alliance existed in one low sec system that bordered a busy high sec area. Anything that came into the system that wasn’t blue died and most residents of the area steered clear of the system.

This fine evening I was waiting at a perch in my Megathron with some mates and ready to pounce on anything that came to the gate. Randomly, I got a convo from a neutral in system I had never met. Some pilots had been trying to locate him for about 15 minutes but he was nowhere to be found. I am not sure why he convoed me out of everyone in system… but I prefer to think it was fate.
Me - “How can I help you?”
Him -”I need some help”
Me - “Sure man, what can I do for you”
Him - “Well I am having trouble with this mission and I could really use some help. These ships are really kicking my butt.”
I’m thinking this guy can’t be serious. He comes into our system, a low sec system known for its pirate presence, to run a mission and then convo’s someone with a negative 8 security status to get help with it? I’m thinking this has to be Christmas.
Me - “Well what level mission is it and what are you flying so I know what to bring. Should I be tanked for sansha or guristas?”
Him - “It’s a level 4 and I’m in my raven. Its just my regular tank. I don’t know what you mean.”
Me - “Hold on a minute, let me grab my ship.”

He actually told me what he was flying and I confirmed it by d-scan. All the intel I could ever hope for. I get on voice coms and I tell everyone in system whats going on. We all meet at the perch and I tell everyone to hold and not say anything in local. After all, we were hoping it was a trap.

Me - “Well I’m ready. Why don’t you join our fleet so I can warp to you.”
Him - “Join your fleet? Ok sure”
HAHAHA! He actually joined the fleet with my entire alliance in it! We all warped to the mission gate and warped into the mission grid at the same time. He was 50k from the warp in point and he freaked out when he saw all the ships we brought and immediately warped off. Aww, crap. I tell everyone to start shooting the rats and stay at the warp in.
Me - “Where did you go? We all came in to help you with your mission? Come back dude we need your help with this. We are taking a lot of damage and some of us have to warp out.”
Him - “Sorry, I saw a bunch of flashy red guys and I ran. I’ll come back.”
Me - “Hurry up we need your help.”
Him – “I’m coming.”

I told everyone in voice coms he was coming back and they kept pretending to help with the mission. He warped back in. He was immediately tackled and my alliance opened fire. I shouted in local “Hey guys what are you doing?” (pause) “No don’t shoot him he is the friendly we are helping! Shoot the rats not him!” Meanwhile we are all laughing so hard in voice coms we can barely breathe. Tears streaming down my face I am laughing so hard. His ship pops fast under the hail storm of dps and he warps out of system in his pod. The walk of shame.

Him - “What the hell man?? You blew me up?”
Me - “Im so sorry dude it was a mistake. I didn’t shoot you at all, check your killmail. They thought you were neutral and panicked. Bunch of morons. I told them not to shoot you. I can’t believe I asked them to help. They killed most of the ships in this mission for you though. I can help you finish your mission if you want. I won’t ask for their help this time. I just thought they would get it done faster. Do you have any other ships?”
Him – “Its ok man I understand I guess. Yea I have a brutix I just bought in Dodixie and I need to fit it. Let me go get it.”

Im thinking, he cant be serious can he? Is he really going to go get another ship for us to kill? All my alliance mates let the GCC wear off and they go wait on gate. About 20 minutes pass go by and I hear a roar of laughter in voice coms.

Him – “They blew me up.”
Me – “Huh?”
Him –“They just blew up my brutix when I jumped into system”
Me – “You gotta be kidding me. I told them you were coming and not to shoot you. I am so sorry dude. I should have linked your name and stuff. They just said they didn’t realize it was you. What a bunch of idiots. We have had a lot of ships come through here in the last few minutes and they thought you were with them.”
Him – “I thought you told them not to shoot me.”
Me – “I did I swear! Do you still want to finish this mission? I can’t do it alone.”
Him – “I guess. The only ship I have left is my merlin and I don’t have any money left. Fitting that brutix was all I had”
Me – “That merlin should be enough.”

Sure enough he comes back into system and gets insta-popped on gate by everyone waiting for him, haha. This was back when there were only one size of rig and they were expensive as hell. We found out when we posted the killmail that he had rigged his frigate and it was worth 20-30 million isk, lol!
He finally realized he had been had.

Me – “What did you learn? Never trust a pirate.”

We blew up every last asset he had and he kept coming back again and again. Stupidity is the only constant in the eve universe and my ship is fueled by carebear tears. The odd thing is I didn’t get on any of the killmails because if I had, he wouldn’t have believed I was on his side. It was still some of the most fun I’ve had in the game and one of my finest displays of my talent as a scammer. I did take the time afterward to tell him every stupid mistake he had made and try to make sure he learned his lesson well. I normally don’t do that but I thought after all he had lost, he should walk away with something priceless – how to make sure it never happens again.

I am not with that corp anymore, but I have to admit I will always miss it.

So, life goes on. I recently moved corp and I've never been happier, a small team of awesome people who basically specialise in bringing the hurt. And with this corp move has come a good few kills, standard can flipping affair mostly although one was a kill made through my setting a can flipping trap by can mining with a Navitas then coming back with a Small Neutron fit Thorax, the fight lasted about 5 seconds and I fired about 4 shots before the Inquisitor was vapour. And it is through this can flipping trapping that I came onto my latest and undoubtedly greatest kill.

There I was, sitting mining into my can, browsing the web, waiting for a chancer to try his luck; nothing was going though. I was just thinking about giving up when a Megathron warps into the belt. Odd, I think, but what the hey, maybe he's chasing someone. I carry on mining. Shortly after, I notice that another can has been put out in the belt and rub my hands together. I'm not above changing from flip trapper to just flipper if the opportunity presents itself. So I check who the can belongs to, assuming it's one of the 3 n00bs who are in the belt with me, but it's not them, it's the Mega pilot. He's mining into a can right beside me. I feel my heart speed up already, this could be a big one. I check out the pilot, he's less than a month old, so either he's an alt or he's bought, and he's in his own corp, on his own. No risk of corpies warping in and no real skills to be worried about, excellent. But, a Mega can still easily tank my little Incursis, so I decide to call in some back-up from my corp. I warp out of the belt to grab my Incursis and some extra ammo just in case, and wait for them to turn up, keeping an eye on my scanner to make sure the Mega's still there. They turn up soon after, but the Mega's left the belt, and apparently, the system. We decide to see what happens if we flip the can anyways, which I do promptly. We wile away the minutes, scanning for him in system. With 3 mins to go, he turns up again in local. With that comes a frantic search around the system, seeing if we can't track him down. With 1 min left, one of my corpies yells that the Mega's back in the belt. We all warp to him and I begin orbiting him, hoping he'll do something stupid in the final 30 seconds on the clock. He locks me and my heart skips a beat, could I be true? Will he do it?

He doesn't, instead he just starts mining again. Damn.

I try dropping a can to see if he'll bite, but no dice. We decide to leave him be for the moment and come back later to see if he'll perhaps drop a can again as he's obviously not playing at the moment. But, just as I'm about to warp out, he drops a can right in front of me. I immediately move to it and flip it, more to be a pest rather than actually expecting him to attack me. I move away from him to my dropped can to pick up the 1 ammo I put in it and suddenly, he turns red and my shield drops a little. He's fired on me, I think, Holy fuck he's actually fired on me! And, with a medium blaster, which is doing about the same damage as high sec belt rats. I rush to orbiting him and open up, deploying my drone as well. I call on my corpies to help, but he's not shot at any of them, just me. I must've pissed him off just that bit more. What's better is my T2 Ions are slowly, but happily, chewing through his shield, and then his armour. All my corpies can do is sit and laugh as they watch a lone frigate beat down a Mega. As he's reaching half armour, I swither on whether I want a ransom or the killmail. Whilst the kill would be an awesome thing to have on my sheet, the ransom would pay for my PvP for the next 2 months or more. I decide to ransom him, so I try to open up a convo, but all I get is that he's offline or otherwise unreachable.

Psh, oh well, kill it is. ^^

A couple of minutes later, his Mega goes up in a magnificent explosion and I have one Battleship kill under my belt. After surveying the wreck and the mail however, I see just how badly fit he was, and how lucky I was. He had Mim light and Med Tech 1 drones along with a missile launcher. Even with his very limited skills, he still could have beaten me, but he didn't use any of them and now I have this mail to always prove that just when you think you've seen every stupid thing a n00b will do, they'll do one more.
Well, my first post got a good response, something I'm rather happy about. I haven't posted in a while, and a few thing things have happened between then and now, so I'm going to lump them together in a happy post of my greatest and not all latest exploits.

Casting back in time a bit to maybe two weeks after my first kill, I was once again out cruising for someone to flip, and there are always targets for those who are willing to search. I'd already found that, for that day at least, my home system was dead to can miners (and I think I'd started becoming known to a few of the regulars), so I'd gone further afield in my hunting. I trawled through system after system and found no one who I could flip, that was, until I landed in a near-dead system on my way back home. I had my scanner open and out of habit, hit the scan button and on the results was a cruiser and a LOT of cans. I quickly narrowed the search field and tracked them down to a deserted belt, which I promptly warped into. There, in front of me, was a Vexor can mining; but he wasn't just mining into one can, he had been filling his cargo bay and then jettisoning each time, I was spoiled for choice. I sidled up to the nearest can and promptly flipped it then took myself into a close orbit around the cruiser, waiting for the response. I knew flipping a Vexor might be a bad idea as they could deploy a whole world of drone based hurt on my ass if flown by a good pilot, but the pilot was young, only a couple of months old, same as me, so I figured that I'd chance it.

Anyways, sure enough drones were launched from the Vexor, 1 Ogre I. I couldn't suppress a gleeful chuckle; the drone wouldn't even be able to hit me, let alone kill me. I locked them up and almost instantly, they flashed red as the Ogre began lumbering towards me. I hit my scrammer, then began the task of quickly webbing and annihilating his drone. That done, I proceeded to cut through his shields and armour and got him into structure. It was at this point I remembered ransoming. I opened a convo with the pilot and offered him a deal of 1 mil to let him go. As he had a Vexor, I figured he could afford it. He said he couldn't afford it and exited the convo; so I promptly returned his ship to the star dust it once was. He asked me why I had shot at him, I replied that he shot first and then left to go get my indy collect the ore and the loot. It was when I picked up said loot that I found that they'd had a few Hammerheads in their drone bay the whole time, but never launched them. Wonders never cease.

After that little encounter, I was flush with my victory, but also disappointed. It had been stupidly easy to down the Vexor, I wanted more of a challenge. So, even though it was getting late, I set out hunting again. I found a target one system over from my home, an Exqueror mining into a can. I checked out the pilot, roughly 3-4 months old, a good bet that unless he had set a trap, I could take him. I moved in and flipped the can before moving in to orbit him and lock him up. What happened next I didn't expect.

He stole his ore back.

Instantly I unleashed all of my guns on him and soon after the ship turned into a fireball. The pod warped off without a word and I set about stealing the ore back to my can, already thinking about logging off after 2 successful, if lackluster kills. It was then that he came back, in a Thorax. My pulse went into overdrive. I knew the Rax's reputation, in good hands it could melt a Frig in seconds, and even in average hands it was a serious threat. But even so, I hadn't had a decent fight, and the adrenaline in my veins told me that I only had one option; I burned straight for him.

Immediately, he opened up and I saw my shield drop horribly as his medium blasters caught a glancing blow on me, and he quickly followed by releasing a swarm of Hammerhead Is. I was in entirely unknown territory, and only a sliver of advice on this site stopped me from disengaging and bugging out. Med drones can't land good hits on a fast moving Frig, especially Tech 1 drones. With that in mind, I maintained my burn and quickly established a close, fast orbit around him. His guns ceased to be a threat as I flew rings around their tracking, but the drones were eating into my armour fast. I scrammed him, then began the process of webbing and destroying his drones. It was touch and go at first, I was killing the drones, but they were landing hit after hit, and they were mounting up. Soon enough however, the skies were clear of any drones but mine, and I set to work chipping away at his shields. They went down in a prompt fashion, but then I hit his armour and found he had a semi-decent tank going. I kept on hitting him, but I was making small headway, if any, and my ammo was depleting fast. And then, all of a sudden, his tank broke as he ran out of cap to support it. My blasters melted through his armour and then punched holes into his structure to finally end the fight in a glorious explosion. I convoed the pilot after the fight to wish him a GF, as should always be the case, and we got talking, with me giving him a few pointers on how to avoid a similar situation happening again and how to improve his fit, although he definitely had the right idea. In the end we parted on good terms.

Overall, it was a good night.
Now the tale, everyone, is not quite over. I have one more story to regail you with, and one I think is a great deal funnier than my previous encounters.

We're fast forwarding to the present day now, and after a spell of inactivity, I was back hunting again. I had been training ship support and combat skills during my inactivity and I was itching to test them on some unsuspecting carebear. Well, I found one, oh boy did I find one.

I had been cruising around for a little while, not finding much of interest. Or when it was interesting it was a blatant pirate trap that only an imbecile would fall into. An example of both was an AF, flown by a year old pilot, with a string of combat Corps in their history, sitting apparently mining into 2 jettisoned cans. The imbecile was a month old pilot in a Catalyst who took the bait only to be vapourised in roughly 30 seconds. That one gave me a chuckle, but I wasn't any closer to finding my own target. Until I managed to scan down a Retriever mining into a can. I sent a quick prayer of thanks to whatever might be listening to the prayers of a pirate and moved in to flip the can. No sooner had I done so than the pilot convoed me;
?[ 2010.06.15 16:50:18 ] Him > im getting my bs and im gona blow your ass to peices
?[ 2010.06.15 16:50:33 ] Me > No problem here
?[ 2010.06.15 16:52:56 ] Him > so tell your buddies to warp in
?[ 2010.06.15 16:53:13 ] Him > cuz i knowhat your trying to do noob

He warped off to station, leaving me sitting in the belt pondering whether I should, indeed, call for a little help from my corp. He was roughly 7 months old so, if he had a BS as he said, I wasn't too worried about him being able to fly it well, or even hit me with the unwieldy heavy guns most likely attached to it. It was more from the aspect that I was pretty sure even a badly fitted BS could tank my lone Incursis and his generally asshattish comments had made me want to take him down no matter what. I put in an inquiry into my corp asking if anyone was nearby, but sadly, no one was. After a moment of deliberation, I decided to see what he showed up in before finalising my plan of action. It was lucky I did, as he didn't turn up in a BS at all, but a Brutix. I couldn't help but grin, this situation was quickly looking up. I immediately closed the distance between him and me, making sure that if he opened up, he'd have a damn hard time hitting me. I still wasn't sure if I could break a tank on a Brute, but I figured that I wouldn't know until I tried. He launched his drones, and my grin only got wider; they were Tech 1 Hammerheads. If there's something I've noticed about EvE, it's that, for Gallente territory anyways, you can tell a lot about a pilot's combat ability by their drones. A good Galent combat pilot with have T2, even if they don't specialise in them. It's silly not to want the added damage and resilience they bring. He, however, had T1, and I was pretty much convinced by this point that I was in the far superior position. He continued to sit with his drones out, but didn't open up. After a minute, and watching the aggression timer tick down, I decided to try to push him into combat.

[ 2010.06.15 16:56:26 ] Me > So're we doing this or not?
?[ 2010.06.15 16:57:27 ] Him > yup
?[ 2010.06.15 16:57:31 ] Him > just us
?[ 2010.06.15 16:57:34 ] Him > no friends
?[ 2010.06.15 16:58:05 ] Me > That's correct yes. I was going to ask for help if you brought a BS, but a BC is usually a solo affair

I'd come across similar suspicion before, I once sat and stole millions worth of ore on my own from a corp mining op because they were utterly convinced I had corpies waiting to jump in and buttseks them all when they opened up on me. I knew I had to convince him it was safe to combat me, and that I was just a stupid combat junkie with too much free time. This is how it went down:

?[ 2010.06.15 16:58:18 ] Him > ire when your ready to die
?[ 2010.06.15 16:58:25 ] Him > wait 1 sec
?[ 2010.06.15 16:58:36 ] Him > y the fuck r u even doing this?
?[ 2010.06.15 16:58:43 ] Me > For the thrill of it
?[ 2010.06.15 16:58:51 ] Me > Plus any ore I can grab on the side
?[ 2010.06.15 16:58:54 ] Him > to die?or lose a ship
?[ 2010.06.15 16:59:02 ] Me > Done both numerous times
?[ 2010.06.15 16:59:22 ] Him > well lets settle this then i ant my ore back
?[ 2010.06.15 16:59:35 ] Me > Whenever you're ready
?[ 2010.06.15 16:59:40 ] Him > fire when your ready to die
?[ 2010.06.15 16:59:53 ] Me > Er, you think I want Concorded? I ain't that stupid
?[ 2010.06.15 17:00:08 ] Me > If you fire though, we get to duel as I stole from you
?[ 2010.06.15 17:00:22 ] Him > well thats to bad cuz i kno your going to tell your buddies to hop in when i fire
?[ 2010.06.15 17:00:28 ] Me > Oh please
?[ 2010.06.15 17:00:39 ] Me > A BC isn't worth that
?[ 2010.06.15 17:00:45 ] Him > sure
?[ 2010.06.15 17:00:54 ] Me > Plus, they're all away in 0.0
?[ 2010.06.15 17:01:02 ] Him > your 200k ship isnt worth my 20 mil ship
?[ 2010.06.15 17:01:32 ] Him > i dont trust liers and thifes
?[ 2010.06.15 17:01:59 ] Me > You think? Look mate, if I wanted to gank a miner's combat ship with my buddies, I'd go to low sec
?[ 2010.06.15 17:02:17 ] Me > This is just us, alone, with you in a much bigger ship

He went quiet for a moment, what I'd said seemed to have struck a chord with him. I waited with baited breath and suddenly, with less than a goddamn minute on the aggression timer, he opened up with Railguns. His drones also started knocking away at my shields, and he seemed to think that he was winning (even though he couldn't land a single turret hit) as he commented:

?[ 2010.06.15 17:04:36 ] Him > just run

As per standard procedure for me, I knocked out his drones first. They fell like flies to my upgraded skills and now T2 Hobgoblin I had along as additional DPS and soon I was hacking into his shields. It was then I found his tank, a shield tank. It was almost laughable, but annoyingly, it was holding up relatively well against my onslaught, I was only making progress in fits and starts; something he noticed.

?[ 2010.06.15 17:05:24 ] Him > i can rep you damage all day noob

What he didn't seem to realise was that I was still making head-way, and soon after, his cap gave out. My blasters started to chew hungrily through his armour, much to my glee, and his death was all but assured. But even better, was the turn the conversation took next.

?[ 2010.06.15 17:06:04 ] Him > ill give u 1 mil to leave me alone
?[ 2010.06.15 17:06:14 ] Him > ok?
?[ 2010.06.15 17:06:30 ] Him > ok 5 mil
?[ 2010.06.15 17:06:37 ] Him > how much?
?[ 2010.06.15 17:06:39 ] Me > 10 If you can afford a 20 mil ship yu can afford that
?[ 2010.06.15 17:06:44 ] Him > just stop plz
?[ 2010.06.15 17:06:54 ] Him > ok 10 nil stop
?[ 2010.06.15 17:07:01 ] Me > Send the cash, then I stop
?[ 2010.06.15 17:07:08 ] Him > stop plz
?[ 2010.06.15 17:07:22 ] Him > i only got 1 mil cash ill sell the ship plz stop
?[ 2010.06.15 17:07:52 ] Me > And how do I know that you won't skip out on the deal?
?[ 2010.06.15 17:07:57 ] Him > plz negoiate
?[ 2010.06.15 17:08:30 ] Me > Stop repping
?[ 2010.06.15 17:08:41 ] Him > ill give you 500k now and 500k when u stop web
?[ 2010.06.15 17:09:06 ] Him > i just sent u 900k
?[ 2010.06.15 17:09:15 ] Him > so plz stop
?[ 2010.06.15 17:09:35 ] Him > ill give u the rest when i dock plz i just want not to lose this ship
?[ 2010.06.15 17:10:33 ] Him > please just et me go
?[ 2010.06.15 17:10:41 ] Him > i wont mess with u again
?[ 2010.06.15 17:10:48 ] Me > To be fair, I messed with you

Well, eventually, he paid up a couple of mil, and I decided to let him go as I was getting bored with the whole affair and am, perpetually, too soft on my targets. His grovelling was my payment, and I watched him go, contented to have taught the moron a lesson he wasn't likely to forget.

And so we come to the end of my exploits for now. I hope that I've kept you entertained. I think that overall, I need to stop being so soft on my targets, as it occured to me later that I should've just told him to either eject or lose the ship, but c'est la vie and hindsight is a bitch. I'm still pretty much a n00b in a world that takes time to get any good at, and next time, my targets won't be getting off with a slap on the wrist and a humiliating defeat for being insulting little bastards.

Fly safe, or unsafe if that's your thing,
Bern

I decided to fit out a Rifter with a cookie-cutter build and go cruising around low-sec looking for a fight. I found one. While jumping through the asteroid belts in a 0.4 system, I encountered some wrecks. Checking the ownership details, I found out whose wrecks they were and that this pilot was still in local! So I kept jumping through the belts, this time moving more quickly, and after three or four more jumps I found him! He was piloting a Vexor ratting the belts with T1 light scout drones and T1 medium scout drones.

Since it was my first time out and I've only been playing EVE for about three weeks now, I was slightly intimidated by the idea of fighting the Vexor and all the drones at the same time but I decided to do it anyways. It'd be good experience regardless of the outcome.I quickly moved in, afterburner blazing, while the Vexor pilot simply looted his wrecks; didn't he notice me?

Once I made it within range, I activated my scrambler and stasis webifier and quickly started orbiting at 500m. Within moments his shields were going down under the combined firepower of three 150mm autocannons and a rocket launcher. However, the Vexor had not yet opened fire or attacked with drones. What was he doing? Did he have a secret weapon? Apparently not because around when I started hitting his armor he finally began attacking me with, if I recall correctly, 250mm railguns which could not hit me. His drones, however, were now attacking me and were eating through my shields rather quickly.

Choosing to forgo targeting the drones in favor or trying to finish the Vexor quickly, I kept all my firepower on the main target and in short order he was into structure. At this point I opened a conversation hoping for a nice ransom to pad my wallet. However the Vexor pilot turned out to be Russian and did not speak English so he did not understand my demands for ISK and I ended up destroying the Vexor in one of the most beautiful explosions I have seen in EVE.

I decided to let the pod go and just go straight for the loot. A decision that probably enabled me to escape with any loot at all because seconds after I had filled my cargohold a battleship warped to zero right on top of me! With my armor and ammo running low, I decided to warp to a nearby planet and then docked at a station to survey my winnings. In total I made over 1.5M from my first kill!

It was a good day and I look forward to more kills, and probably deaths, in the future.
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, pies and bears, gather around! It is once again time for you to be regaled by tales of yarrage and tears! If you’ll allow me a moment to introduce myself, I am Lord Abako, and while this is my first story I have written for EVE-Pirate, I promise it to be the first of many.

My fellow corpmates and I are all former members of TRAPS (except our new guy), who’s exploits seem to be pretty well known around this site. So empire wars are kind of our thing really. We’ve recently struck out on our own in this crazy universe to see what fun there is to be had, and have been having a blast so far. With only 7 active players, the inability to rely on numbers adds a nice sense of challenge to everything we do.

We’ve been fighting practically non stop since creating our own corporation and I have about a month and a half of craziness to cover in this story. I’ve also made sure to ask my corpies to save a good number of screenshots and chat logs to help spice thing up. I’m going to do my best to keep everything in the correct order, but with this being my first time writing a story like this, I didn’t think to save screenshots with the date they were taken. But you live and learn. So grab yourself a drink, maybe a snack, and get nice and comfortable, because here we go!

The longer I play Eve, the more it became obvious that there was a grueling lack of a certain object on my killboard. This was mostly because I simply hadn't found the time to look for one (or had the luck to actually find one dumb enough to engage).
Most of the pirates amongst you probably know what I'm talking about, a Hulk.

I've done my own share of suicide ganking (mostly on procurers in 0.9 and 1.0 sec systems using destroyers), but it was the first time that I'd go for such a high value target.
Initially, my target was a guy I knew was a macro miner, but since he wasn't online when my rather extreme destructive impulse came to the surface, I was forced to look for other prey.
Said prey was found in the form of another macro miner (yes i know, the place where I live is full of them). Using my trusty Anathema to scan the fit of said miner, I decided that he was both valuable enough to gank, and easy enough to take down (in other words, filled with cargo expander II's and cargo optimization rigs).
The reason why I needed to know this was because I was planning on taking it down solo, in a frigging 0.9 system.

For that very reason, I decided on taking a gankfitted Tempest as my ship of choice, giving me a rather nice alpha strike to try and take down the damned ship in a single volley.

Using an alt for both looting and as a mobile warp in point, I sought out the miner (whose macro had warped it to another belt in the mean time).

As I closed in on the Hulk, adrenaline started flowing freely in my bloodstream, elevating my heartbeat to very high levels.

Smirking slightly, I activated all weapon systems while my targeting sensors started locking on to the massive signature of the mining ship.
Setting my alt on stand-by, I clicked away the warning of CONCORD, and prepared for the show.

In a flash, my ship was surrounded by the police force, and blasted into smithereens by their immensely powerful array of turrets.
To my horror though, the miner was still alive. He had made it through the onslaught with about half his structure surviving the massive blast of the giant heap of scraps formerly known as my battleship.

Cursing loudly, I started my way towards the station (no sense in giving anyone the 15mil bounty on my head by simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time in a pod), when I noticed that my target had made no move at all of fleeing.

Thinking quickly, I set a course for Amarr (the nearest trading hub), and purchased a rupture with gankfit there, hoping that it would be enough to take out the remaining bits of structure that held the macro together.

While I was buying said rupture, I was busy looking for my target, since its program had warped it back to the station.
Knowing that a somewhat clever macro programmer would at least add a check for ship damage to it, I expected it to be fully repaired, thus resulting in me having thrown away a gankfit Tempest for nothing.
Much to my personal delight though, when the ship undocked, I noticed that smoke was still coming out of its hull, indicating that it hadn't been repaired. Though for some reason, the damn thing was aligned towards an asteroid belt, but wasn't warping at all, merely slowboating towards the belt (having gone more than 60km's away from the station by the time I arrived.

Quickly moving to pursue, both my main and alt raced to reach the Hulk, hoping to take it down before it finally realised what it was doing and warped off.

The second I reached optimal with my Rupture, guns spat fire once more, and I saw the shields failing once again, while the structure decreased to a mere quarter of its original state. Strangely enough though, for some reason CONCORD decided not to show up (probably because of my close proximity to the station), but the station's guns didn't shoot at me either. There was howver, one problem. Even if I had managed to squeeze off 2 salvo's with my rupture, it still wasn't enough to take down the blasted ship, and with me being in a gankfitted ship, I hadn't bothered to take along ammo for more than those 2 cycles. Here I was, getting a free ganking chance or so to say, and I'd run out of ammo.

Shouting in frustration, I hurried my alt to pick up some medium projectile ammo in the system (carbonized lead, it sucks I know, but it was all I had on such short notice).

Warping back to my main after a short trip to a local station, I dropped the ammo in a can right next to my main, which moved quickly to pick it up and load it into the empty guns.

In short order, my artillery was once again hurling slug after slug at the exhumer, but a combination of 2 ships moving at a non-optimal range and the lack of decent ammo to shoot with resulted in the shields going down VERY slowly. While I knew I didn't have to fear CONCORD for the time being, I did realise that with every second ticking by, my chances to take down the Hulk were decreasing more and more.

My fears were realised when I saw it align to another belt. I groaned in frustration as I noticed that its shields were not even down as it warped, leaving for the relative safety of the rocks.
Knowing that me following it in warp would result in CONCORD spawning at the belt, and thus sending my Rupture after its bigger brother the Tempest, I had nothing left to do but sit at about 240km's off the station and wait for the GCC to cool down.
(I had a rather tense moment when I noticed a curse undock from said station though, but it was obviously not in a mood to pursue).

Meanwhile, being sorely disappointed by the efficiency of carbonized lead, I had sent my alt to Amarr to gather some good old faction ammo.

By the time it got back, the Hulk had returned to the station, lounging around at the outside, as if taunting me.
My GCC had finally run out just at that moment, so using my alt as a warp-in point yet again, I moved into position, loaded up the ammo my alt had dropped for me yet again, and opened fire once more. Once more, to no effect.

Cursing all possible gods, the macro and its grandkids in the twenthieth degree, I flew my main's pod back to Amarr, yet again. This time though, I was not going to give the bloody ship a chance to get away.

Having waited out yet another GCC, I used my alt to track down the hulk for the umpteenth time, and warped my main to the station, only to have the Hulk warp off to another belt right in front of my nose (it was still damaged though, as I had been able to confirm with my alt). By this time, I had developed a somewhat raging obsession with taking down that infernal ship.

Some quick detective work later (warping to the top belt surrounding the planet I had noticed it align to), I warped in, this time for the last time, and smiled with glee as a full rack of 1400's unleashed their deadly fury onto the "unsuspecting" Miner.

The smirk on my face grew even larger when I watched the Hulk explode into a bright ball of fire, even as CONCORD warped in to punish me for my nefarious deeds. I couldn't care less. At long last (and after a chase of more than an hour), I finally had my first Hulk on my killboard.
And it only took me 3 ships, plus some sec status (it dropped under -2 ^^).

It was a bit infuriating to know that had I used an Armageddon from the beginning (it was the third ship I used) instead of that Tempest, I probably would've gotten him in a single go.
But in the end, all that mattered was the fact that I had done it.
(but, knowing my luck, no real goodies dropped, of course)

I sighed as I plotted a course that would take my ship through the belts in the Deepari system.
It had been slow going the last few days. The miners were becoming increasingly paranoid, probably the result of the earlier devastation I had been causing amongst their population. It was either that or people started to recognise the fact that a wolf on their overview usually meant trouble.

As it was, it looked to be another day without any pilots foolish enough to jettison their tasty ore for their industrials to come and pick up.

Just as I was about to give up for the day and work off my frustration on some hapless mission rats, I heard the comms crackle to life with the voice of my corpmate, Rac.

He'd been browsing the belts and had found what seemed to be an Exequror cruiser jetcanning. He'd already taken the can once, but apparently the miner was ignoring him.

Not one to be left out of a situation like that (who would be), I quickly navigated my way through the jumpgates that I knew would lead me straight to the Amarr system, where Rac was currently annoying the miner.

"Ok, I'm in system, fleet up Rac", I said as the blinding light from the stargate faded, leaving me floating in Amarr space.
Upon receiving comfirmation that he'd joined up, I quickly used the fleet navigation systems to warp myself directly to Rac's Ishkur.

As it so happened, the Exequror was still there, happily mining away in his jetcan, with a single laser.

Checking his employment history and local for any corpies he may have in system, I moved in for the flip. In hindsight, I should've seen the warning signs.
A cruiser belonging to a reasonably old character, mining away with a single laser and a can. It should have screamed trap to me, but fatigue was catching up to me a bit, so I decided to ignore the small voice shouting in the back of my head. Especially since he'd already been flipped by Rac in his Ishkur and apparently hadn't retaliated.

Settling my Wolf in a position right next to the cruiser, I transferred the, rather meager, contents of his can to one of my own. Not really expecting anything to happen, I lazed around a bit, talking about random stuff with Rac and what we would do afterwards.

Much to my surprise though, I noticed the yellow brackets surrounding the Exequror on my overview. Apparently the pilot had decided to lock me.
This however, is rather common when canflipping, and as such, didn't really raise an alarm. It wasn't until the brackets turned red that I really started to sit up straight, mostly because of the messages that were quickly starting to pour in via my overview.

I muttered a curse when I noticed that within moments, my proud wolf had been webbed, scrambled, and judging from the current capacitor state, neuted into oblivion as well.

Said curse multiplied several times over when I saw more signals appear on my hud, drones. A full wing of the feared Warrior II's. These were especially deadly to my Wolf, since it has a rather massive gap in its explosive and kinetic resistances.

Scrambling to action, I directed my ship into a tight orbit around the cruiser, though looking back on it, that was a rather useless move since he didn't have any turrets fitted, except for one mining laser that would only be a threat if my ship were to be made out of raw asteroids.

Thankfully, my targeting computers were able to lock on to the Exequror's signal rather quickly, and soon after, 4 autocannons and a rocket launcher started blasting away at the target turned hunter.

Horrified, I saw my shield go down rather quickly, with my armour already taking damage.
While I usually have a small repper fitted for situations like this, being neuted completely negated that advantage. Not to mention the fact that it also disabled my afterburner and scram, leaving me to slowboat circles around the cruiser.

My mood improved rather quickly though, when I saw that the damage my Wolf dealt was surpassing the damage I was receiving. Thank God for the fact that projectile weapons keep firing even without cap (and the fact that I tend to go completely gung ho on all out combat ships, fitting obscene amounts of firepower on them).

Evidently, my opponent had also noticed this fact, and was aligning his ship to warp out the minute he reached structure. He'd already pulled in his drones, giving my battered armour some much needed space to breathe.

He had, however, miscalculated the cycle time on his neuts (or had made the mistake of firing them up all at the same time), which left me with just enough capacitor to pulse my warp scrambler once.
Seeing him move to escape, I wondered what the pilot was thinking when his ship finished aligning, but with nothing else happening.

Knowing that he would not stick around should my warp scrambler finish it cycle, and knowing that I wouldn't have enough cap for a second cycle. I pushed my guns to the limit, in a desperate attempt to deal as much last minute damage as possible.

With mere miliseconds left on the scram cycle, the final sliver of hull finally disappeared and the Exequror was consumed in a massive fireball, leaving me sitting in space with adrenaline levels in my blood spiking dangerously high.

I quickly gathered everything I could grab from the wreck, shot the remaining leftovers (no sense in leaving something for someone else to salvage) and warped to the station, knowing that my Wolf would probably not survive another fight like that.

While still catching my breath in station, I noticed a message in local, congratulating me for the good fight.
Smiling, I returned the compliment and applauded him for a trap well executed.

In the end, that one kill made my entire day, and left me hungry for more, sadly enough all I managed to catch was one lousy destroyer.
Though I wouldn't want to run in to such a trap again anytime soon.

The Caracal on the killmail was apparently a someone that had tried to smartbomb the Exequror a bit earlier.

A few days ago, I was reveling in the majestic beauty of my newly refit Hurricane. I had replaced its old rusted TI guns with a full set of TII 220mm Vulcans, and modified the rest of the layout as well, transforming the normally rather lethal 'cane' into a true monster. Deciding that the rest of my hangar shouldn't be left out, I went on a shopping spree that resulted in several new additions to my hangar, including a Rupture and a Dramiel.

As it so happened, I was not the only person in my corp to be doing that exact thing. Rac, one of my corpmates, had flown to Jita earlier that day to buy himself a Phantasm class cruiser. After facing my Rupture , he decided to hit the belts and see if he could find something to kill.

While he was doing just that, I decided to wander through the region a bit, in a way showing off my shiny new ship. It didn't take long for Rac's voice to come over the comms though, stating that he'd found an easy target.
Being someone that's always happy for an easy kill, I changed course immediately.

Upon arriving at the belt, I noticed that Rac was all alone, with the target nowhere in sight. This soon became clarified though, when a rather large amount of smack started pouring in through local.
In short, he said that he'd chased off a battleship earlier on with his Punisher, but wasn't about to take on a faction cruiser.

We decided to play around a bit while waiting for him to show up again, resulting in me testing Rac's tank and vice versa.

After a while however, I noticed that our friendly neighborhood smacktalker still had a second can in the belt.
Deciding not to waste any time, I burned towards the can and within moments, the contents had been transferred to my hold.

Much to my amazement, the guy warped in not half a minute later and instantly engaged my Hurricane in his punisher.

After the initial shock wore off, I quickly locked him and threw my entire arsenal on the little frigate, which was scrammed, double webbed, neuted, droneraped and shot to bits in short order.

After stating my disbelief in local, about why he would want to engage a Hurricane when he wouldn't want to fight a Phantasm, he simply told us that he thought the Hurricane was a cruiser class ship.
This of course was followed by a collective facepalm in the system, and I told him to learn his shiptypes and visit the eye surgeon before ever fighting PvP again.

It wasn't until I had posted the mail on Battleclinic that I realised the true hilarity of the kill.
Apparently, a he had found it wise to put a Centii C-Type Adaptive Nano Plating on his Punisher.

It didn't drop though, sadly enough, though the kill alone more than made my day, and served as a rather fitting baptism for my Hurricane.
Due to the encouragement received (thank you Kissa for your comment on my last post!) I am going to tell you all a tale of a slightly better battle than last time! Huzzah!

Many players believe that in combat, having a bigger ship means you win. This, as I am about to demonstrate through the incontrovertible truth of "Me saying it", is not the case. I have recently begun to grow a little tired of my can-flipping activities - miners are a spirited bunch, but aren't always equipped to provide a stimulating battle - and so have found a new way to curb my blood-lust. I need only three things: A scan ship with probes, a cruiser, and the ability to stop myself hitting the "Warp" button when I enter structure. The last of those was absolutely vital in this encounter...

My weapon of choice - the Amarr arbitrator. I am a drone specialist, and so probably should have trained for Gallente, but the Amarr vessels looked so pretty and shiny, how could I resist? Anyway, enough of my rambling - on to the method! Firstly, I use the scan-ship to scan down a mission runner in one of the major level 4 mission hubs (But which one? Ah, you shall never know! Unless I tell you later). I then proceed to it at warp in my arbitrator, appraise myself of my target, judge his viability for pew-pew, and then...steal his "ultra-valuable" mission loot. It's usually something like a cap booster 800.

At this point, the following thoughts tend to cross the mind of the target. Either 1) Hey, that guy's in a cruiser stealing from a battleship? Something's going on here...I'm not rising to it. This, ladies and gentlemen, is the sensible option, which I implore you all to take if I ever show up in your mission. Alternatively, the mark could think 2) Hey, what does this guy think he's doing, stealing my cap boosters? I shall show him my 1337 pew-pew skillz! I must be able to win easily, because I'm in a battleship!

Unfortunately for my victim in this story, they thought 2) was the best answer to their problem. I had scanned myself down an Abaddon! I like Amarr battleships - because I armor tank, I have pretty nice EM resistances, and that's pretty much all lasers do. This particular Abaddon was fighting Guristas - so naturally, I gave them every chance by taking Explosive drones that they were weak to. Aren't I lovely?

As soon as I went flashy red, I saw myself being targeted. Wonderful...now let's see if that plate holds up. I almost forgot to turn on my damage control II, but was rather glad I did...the first volley cut my armor down to 40%! At this point, I seriously considered running like a frightened child. I then weighed up the options: 1) 2 more shots like that and I'm toast. 2) I'm 15km away from this guy. Most likely using beams. Probably inside multifrequency optimal. 3) My afterburner means I can close rather quickly... 4) Oooh, I have tracking disruptors! *pokes activation button*.

Unfortunately, that wasn't quite enough...another shot slammed into my hull, setting alarms off across the ship. Tactical readouts showed my armor vanish, and my hull plummet to 14%! My ship was on fire, and the metaphorical space-rats were abandoning ship. Oh dear...well, no time to align and warp now!

I hit the warp disruptor and the armor repper, waiting for the next shot. After the cycle time of about 9.2 seconds, it came. White-hot energy lanced out of the Abaddon's guns, scything towards my stricken cruiser, and...missed. My tracking disruptors had done their work, and I was now within 2km of the ship. There was nothing it could do to hit me!

I surveyed my arsenal - now I had all the time in the world. There were no members of my victims corps in channel, so I could do this calmly. With 14% hull, I couldn't make any mistakes...especially not with my orbital velocity. It was then that I noticed a cloud of drones spewing forth from the Abaddon...the Hornet I's of imminent doom! Launching my own light drones (tech 2), I made short work of them and the vespa I's that followed. Now I had truly eliminated all threats, and I recalled my light drones and threw my medium drones upon the battleship.

Slowly, my drones pecked away at the armor of the mighty vessel. After 15 minutes, there were still none of the pilot's corpies in local - and now they couldn't touch me anyway, as the aggression timer was over. Yay. Still, I had about half of this guy's armor to go. It was at this point that I remembered that I had neuts fitted.

Feeling like an idiot, I threw my tech 2 neuts onto the ship as well. The armor started dropping rapidly now - obviously his repper couldn't function without cap. My capacitor needed careful management too, but I had the advantage of a Nosferatu as well.

A further 2 minutes of this treatment and I had armor down to a tiny sliver. I toyed with the idea of seeing it explode so I could have a nice, shiny, Abaddon killmail to polish, but I remembered my lessons that I learned on EVE - Pirate...Real pirates ransom. Unless its a war target. Opening a conversation, I am treated to a lovely, polite opening line from my victim..."Wtf?". Granted, I have just committed a random act of violence against them and their shiny ship. I start with my customary "Hello sir, you appear to be in a spot of pirate - related difficulty. Shall we agree a price to rectify this situation?". My victim is quite co-operative, and pays me a cool 35 million for the safe release of their ship. Honoring the ransom, I de-activate my scrambler and watch the battleship limp towards the nearest station. Now to get the holes in my damn ship fixed...

I had thought that the end of the story would lie there, but no! My CEO received an EVE-mail from my victim, which he forwarded to me (After he had stopped laughing at my new escapades). Here it is, readers - the message itself. Bear in mind that the character I attacked was 2 months older than my own.

"Being a chick and new to this game I just have to say something. I just want to tell you its really crappy what your corp member did to me. I understand your corp likes pvp and Im a 'carebear' but II havent learned enough in this game so its my choice. Its one thing to pvp its another thing to come into someones mission who is minding there own business almost kll them and ransom them I dont think thats fair play. Personally I think its fucked up. And I am sure this is falling on deaf ears since youzmay condone this action but I feel I had to say my peace. And this is definately not directed to you personally but someday I will get a grasp on this game and get my shit together (as long as people like your mate dont jack me) and what goes around comes around."

No spellcheckers were harmed (or used) in the creation of this EVEmail. By the way, I really look forward to the time they do come after me and "What goes around comes around". I could use a fight!

Until next time I manage to find something interesting in my Inbox, this is me, signing off. Fly safe - but not too safe!

It was typical Saturday night. I had enjoyed few amarrian brewed goods and was looking for something to do. As usuall, most of our wartargets were enjoying their time at stations with cheap booze and exotic dancers.

I decided to make little trip around my current home system in my favorite Hurricane, Tähtimajava, to seek possible ways to kill some time. I traveled through Pimebeka just to be annoyed by dozens of cargo rigged hulks. I was thinking about fitting a suicide battleship to have something goes boom, but at that time it felt too much troubled to get ship ready for that kinda things.

After few moments I jumped into Anjendin system. First thing I noticed was an unusual amount people in local channel. "This might have potential..." I thought, as there is an ice belt and no station in that system. A quick scan detected several hulks, macks, cans and drones at ice belt. "Jackpot!" slipped from my mouth behind my widening grin.

I made a quick check that I had hauler close to system to score some isk from icy loot if no one wanted to engage me. (Which i was pretty sure wouldn't happen as I was still sitting in a battlecruiser.)

"Cap boosters? Check! Ammo? Check. Drones? Check..." I also made system checks, turned the music up little bit louder and took my last sip of dark ale and jumped into a belt.

When I reached the belt I first checked all possible target cans. Suddenly a hauler jumped into the belt and rushed to collect a can bit further away from my position. "That one!" I decided and hit my afterburner. I passed by the slow hauler and managed to jettison my own can wondering at the same time "Why in the hell I had a Gallente mining laser module in my cargo. I quickly flipped those icy blocks into my own can. Those surely would provide enough cooling for my drinks for months to come.

Seconds passed and nothing happened. "Oh well i still got a nice pile of ice" I thought, feeling bit disappointed. What happened next was something I couldn't imagine even in my wildest pod-fluid filled dreams.

Something decided to lock me! "Righto, here we go..." I mumbled and and saw my ship's systems screaming a message about something trying warp scramble me.

What I noticed next hit me like jackhammer. "What a he... Tengu?!?". A quick situation analysis provided me with the sad fact that as I was sitting in buffercane and I probably would be toast. There is no way I would even imagine being able to break that thing before it would eat me for a late supper. I let out little curse when Caldari navy heavy thunderbolts begun to hammer my shields.

"It's only isk..." I thought and locked all my offensive systems at the Tengu. Then all I had to do was to pray to every single Amarr god and their sisters. However, those suckers failed to respond so I decided to call out to the next best thing, my corp, TRAPS.

Me > "RR needed fast at Adjentin"
Corpmate > "There is no such system"
Me > "Anjendin please hurry if you can"
Corpmate > "Fitting reps and omw. what you got there?"
Me> "I have one scrammed Tengu"

Several members > OOW! (On Our Way)

While talking with corpmates and waiting for the cavalry to arrive, some of the Exhumers decided to join fight but I ignored them. I was so focused on the Tengu, I didn't want to mess it up. Afterward, I did feel silly for not killing them. I got excited. So sue me.

The Tengu pilot switched his targeting to my drones and got few before I had even realized they were dropping like flies. My autocannons tried hard to push through his heavy shields, but the progress was lackluster. My armor was being chewed bit by bit by missiles and drones. There was no escape for me from this one, so me going down with guns blazing seemed only possible thing to do. I yelled into comms, "I'm melting!" I got the reply, "Warping!" from my new best friend.

The last pieces of armor vanished when our Dominix landed next to me. "Whoah, that was close one!" I thought as I watched my ship's armor get put back together piece by piece.

Meanwhile, a group of corpmates set their course to the system as well. I had to ask some of them to bring me more ammo as my supply was getting low. I kept hitting my target as hard as I could, pumping tons of projectiles at it. It was a hopeless stalemate. I couldn't break my target's tank and he couldn't get away. My corpies kept my cap filled to the brim and armor didn't lower single bit.

We decided to ransom him as he probably was getting low on missiles at this point. I opened up a convo and tried to contact him. No answer..... I switched to local channel and proposed a ransom negotiation. As i tried to figure out how much ransom should be and talking with the rest of corp, he finally decided to answer my call. I wanted to know how much he thought ship was worth to him and asked him to make an offer.

He told me to he would pay me fifty million when he was out of system. Right! I let him know that i thought he was joking and he raised it to one hundred million. That was more like insult. I told him that what I had in mind was something like one billion. That was followed by the typical complaint from people like this, that 100 million was everything he had. Sure...
The last thing I told him was that I was in a good mood and that five hundred million would be enough to save his shiny new ship. He rejected offer one last time and the fight continued.

In middle of ransom negotiation, another corp mate was kind enough to get me fully fitted Tempest. As ransoming was pointless now we decided to switch ships. Other corp members kept bumping the Tengu as I boarded that death-dealing Tempest. The only thing that worried us was the possibility that the Tengu would get away before I could lock him again.

"All systems online... except sensorbooster..." I ignored the smart ass computer and locked on target once again. I hit warp jammers and growled, "Bite this!", as I turned on those huge energy neutralizers. 650mm Dualies started their salvos with drones giving little bit more buzz to the doomsday symphony. Soon I heard someone saying, "Armor!". After my guns punctured through his heavy shields that covered the oh so gentle armor plates, the fight was over in seconds.

After the fight I ran a battle analysis and was shocked about amount of damage I pumped into that T3 cruiser. The only thing that disappointed me was the quality of the loot in the wreckage. Well, a killmail was worth the effort of the fight and I went to bed smiling like an idiot and doing some happy dance moves.

I think at some point some one of my "friend's" corpmates came to the belt to harass some of my support fleet, but I am not too sure about that.

I didn't mention any names in this story because I don't know if they want to be publicly embarrassed. You can always check our killboard though if you really want the specifics.

To my truly awesome corp, I love you

Thank you very much! I hope I can return the favor someday.

Special thanks goes for my corporation that gave me a place to stay and nice people to hunt with.

My apologies about my bad English but I hope you still enjoy my little story

- Kissa

PS. almost forgot to add the killmail for the lazy folks. tengu killmail
After an uneventful tour through null sec i decided to jump to Ami for some low sec pirating. Its such a bother, pause the skill, leave the ship, click jump... After waking up in Ami, start the skill again, board ship, undock.

I was greeted with a few reds in local. Ami seems busy today. Unfortunately all i have in here was a shuttle so i quickly headed for Daran to get my trusty old Maller. Daran's empty, which is a bit disappointing, the party's in Ami it seems. Changed ships and suddenly someone popped into local. lil Zyphad was his name. Great! I hope he'll go ratting.

I undocked and did a 360 degree scan. I pinpointed his location quite easily and already i was wondering whether its a trap. There are a few reds and CVA guys just one jump away. CVA hate my corp Core impulse. Simply because we are more good looking than them.

So back to the story, and yes, we are sexy too! I decided to warp in and hope to kill him quickly before his friends can get to me. He was flying a Vexor.

When i came out of warp i landed just 2km off of him. Perfect. Here we go...
Target.
Point.
Neut.
Shoot.
Orbit.
What did i miss? Oh yeah, overheat weapons.. My shields melted quickly but so did his and he entered armor first. At that point i noticed i was no longer doing much damage. shit! 1600mm plates im sure! A few more seconds (or minutes) and i completely stopped doing damage. Curse the Gods i overheated my weapons till they broke! about this time i noticed 4 people enter local. i know im screwed.

lil zyphad was in 25% armor and i know his friends are in warp to us now. Fuck the pressure was so intense i cant think staight. I noticed my neut was still working and my only hope now was to drain his cap and warp off. I pointed to a planet and clicked warp. Surprisingly my ship was trying to initiate warp so his cap must be dry now; but i forgot to turn off my afterburner and the few seconds it added to my align time was costly. I turned it off as quick as i can but a thorax already popped into view and started to target me. I really really thought i can get out, it was so close but just not enough. Thorax managed to get a point. Lost my hope for the second time.

What to do now i was thinking? Im taking damage from the thorax and lil zyphad's hammerhead IIs but still they didnt manage to break my tank. I still have about 60% armor left which is pretty good. But with no guns to use, fuck it seems all i can do is wait for them to pop me. I tried to repair my guns with nanite repair paste but i know full well they're already offline. Then it struck me, some may still be online, all i need is to ungroup them. I hit ungroup... Nothing happend.. Shit need to unload the crystals first then ungroup and sure enough 3 of my lasers are still online. I put the crystals back in quickly and started to shoot the vexor again hoping to take him out with me. I got a few volley's in and my armor is holding up well. Already im adoring myself for being so goodlooking and sexy when a megathron and hurricane entered the fight!

Now im really dead! my armor melted quickly. the end is near... i began to spam warp as i entered structure. my maller's explosion followed shortly.

My Maller

PS: Core Impulse is recruiting. It's an awesome corp with awesome people.

Ever since I first got into EVE, I wanted to do pvp. It just seemed like it was the most exciting thing to do in EVE since there were actually consequences to losing against another player. I asked too many questions about how to fit a ship and what was good and how to tackle, all the things necessary to yarr properly. I trained my skills so that I could manage some good dps in my Thorax and itched to go out and kill something. Finally after only a couple months, I earned my first kill.

I had decided to put the missions to the side for the night and head over to the closest low sec I could find, Oulley. I figure that the best way to get into a fight is to just sit still like the young n00b I am and wait for some big mean pirate bully to come and blow my Thorax up. I warped out to one of the belts and just as I finished with the last rat, a lone Rifter warped in almost right on top of me. I was in the process of locking but he aggroed first, so I threw my hammerhead II's at him and opened up my guns up as wide as they could go. When his armor was at 50% I looked at my own shields and armor and they weren't even touched! This can't be right, why haven't I taken any damage? I quickly looked over my entire screen to see what he was shooting at when I noticed I only had 2 Hammerheads left! Queue the facepalm and the lesson learned, so I pull them back in so he drops target on them. But the poor bastards didn't get to see the explosion as the Rifter popped and left me a little basket of goodies. I tried to snag and ransom his pod but my underdeveloped targeting skills could not lock on fast enough. I offered him a good fight in local, which he quietly returned before leaving system. The things he left for me were nothing special, but enough to pay for some new drones.

I replayed the explosion in my head a few times, but soon the adrenaline subsided and the pangs of my starved ADD wanted me to go back out there and make some more ships go boom. So I went to the nearby system Maut to see if I could find another person to shoot at. It didn't take long for my sit and wait strategy to bring me another opponent, this time a Vexor. Now I do not claim to be an expert on builds or setups, but I am pretty sure the tank on a Vexor should have outlasted mine. But once my drones and blasters started up, his sheilds and armor seemed to fall off and run away. He had to have been stabbed as well because he was able to warp away and left me with nothing left to do but offer a "gf :-(" in local, which he didn't return. Since I cannot probe and I didn't see where he might have warped to, I let him go and moved on to another belt.

I was in the process of looting the rats I killed when another Rifter warped in to the belt. Since I felt cheated out of a Vexor kill, I figured a Rifter boom could satisfy me. I didn't waste any time sending my drones after him and tackling him. He took much longer to kill than the first Rifter and thankfully he didn't go after my drones. Even so, the guy never got my armor past 75% so I had another goodie bag to pick from and another pod to try to ransom. Too bad he got away too. We exchanged gf in local and I headed back to base to drop off all the stuff I picked up.

I decided to head back out to Maut to try and see if I could snag another kill. I think maybe this whole killing other players thing could become an addiction as I was craving to make another ship explode. This was all that ran through my mind while jumping into the system so I didnt notice the big Myrmidon chilling there exactly 15 km away from me. I began to align to get out of there and head to a belt, but the guy locked and tackled me faster than campus security tackling a dirty hippie. So I turned right back around and high tailed it to the gate as fast as my afterburners could take me (yeah, I still cant do MWDs yet) and luckily I jumped through right as he was cutting into my structure.

I decided to call it a night after that while I still had a ship to speak of. I would say it wasn't a bad night for my first ever pvp outing. I learned a lot about fighting other players and recognized areas where i could improve upon. Maybe the kills I got were lucky and I am not truly ready to go out and fight people. All I know is that I want to become a pirate and I want to keep this killing business going as long as I possibly can. This business is just too much fun to want to do anything else.

Ive been wanting to write about my kills but there's more drama and suspense in my recent loss so i think ill share this with you guys first.

It was early morning and i logged in to find my home system full of people. Lex Fasces and Maekar Targaryen are online; i know they're looking for a fight, i also know they fly a harby and an ishkur. My friend Pahra is also online and a lot of new faces in local. I talked to Raven Khk and asked if he wants to join us. Ive seen him and talked to him in the system plenty of times and thought he can be trusted. Man, i was wrong! He said he's doing a plex but can come and help us once i got a point on Lex or Maekar.

I asked Pahra whether he's willing to use his Rokh in this fight and he agreed. So i changed fitting quickly to suit the situation and undocked in my omen navy issue. Once outside, i did a 360 scan, there's a lot of ships in the result but i know who im looking for. I warped to a planet close to the belt they are in and got in position. By this time another friend Cael Ironstaff logged in and i invited him to our fleet. He flies an arazu. I found the belt Lex and Maekar are in and asked my fleet to get ready, they responded and i was off. I landed on top of our targets and they got a point and web on me almost immediately. I told my fleet to warp to me and the fight was on. My shield was going down fast, too fast. My armor was down to about 50% when i saw another one of their ally, cariusdius, enter the system. Damn, it seems they baited us and we took it. My armor is steadily dropping and already i know my friends wouldn't be able to get to me in time. I overloaded all my modules; weapons, repper and resists hoping to stay in the fight for as long as i can. Finally my friends arrived at the scene, Pahra in his Rokh, Cael in Arazu, and Raven in his Cerb. I felt a sigh of relief; even if i lose my ship, im sure they can pop both of these guys.

But suddenly Raven left our fleet and started shooting Pahra. Traitor! I know we were screwed. My hull stopped taking damage for a few seconds at 47% and i know Cael in his Arazu jammed someone; it didnt last long though and eventually my Omen Navy popped. I warped off and came back at 100km only to see cariusdius in his Retribution enter the fight.

It was hopeless, Pahra and Cael are fighting against overwhelming odds, but i dont want to abandon my friends.. I asked them if they can hold on for a bit longer while i get a new ship.. There was no reply. I asked again and waited. Still none. I arrived at the station and quickly got my BS and undocked.. Damn the black screen is taking so long.. When i was finally outside i hit warp quickly. I got global aggro and was already taking heavy fire from the sentry when Pahra said the fight was over. His rokh was down. Cael managed to warp off.

We've suffered terrible a loss, and i feel im partly to blame because of my bad judgement. But hats off to Pahra and Cael, they fought bravely. It was great flying with you guys. =)

Im still in a noob corp but IF you guys enjoyed my story and are looking for people to fly with, contact me in-game. Im always looking for buddies and i dont care what your SP level is. The intent is to pvp and have fun.

So, a little back story as im a new poster on this site. Im currently sat on about 18mil sp, 17 months into eve, its going extremely well and im a happy bunneh.
I currently occupy the tash-murkon region with [TRAPS] =]
But after some long wt camps and generally dullness for me "being gmt i seem to miss alooot of the fighting that goes on" i decided to go carebear for a little while.. make some iskies ,etc.

So thats how my carebear career started about.. 16/17 days ago. Being a carebear i dust off my old mission hype,, and get grinding , it was going prettty well with the corp i joined "nice bunch, if a lil simple" but i fitted in okay.
Now obviously my pvp side was open for them to ask about stuff.. really basic stuff "fittings ,etc" so within 2 weeks i was running a few pvp ops for them , lowsec roams that lark of pvp,
which was ok ,, but everytime i had my alt mining all i could see was the orca and .. hulks .. TARGETS !
When i realised how insanely cruel it would be for me to make them part with their dearly beloved mining ships it just make me want to do it even more. Hence my planning started,
the main issue was "how to kill them all during an op on my own" so straight away my hulk pilot got its t1.. dire drake out and learnt the skills for warp distrupters Instant 5 man tackler with 40km heavies, couldnt go wrong.

So On Saturday the 17th of January .. i saw my chance . i was looking at the alliance calander and there it was, the magic words i had been waiting for .
"Mining op - led by orminston" <-orca pilot}

I jump onto vent at about 9gmt/eve time and get myself invited to the fleet which envolved asking for an invite seconds before starting to kill .

I warped both accounts to belt / my main on the orca and the drake slapdash in the middle of the hulks "they were very spread out so sb's wouldnt have worked which i had origionally hoped to do"
Drake locks down the five and starts pounding on a hulk/retriever while my main "hype" was concentrating on downing the orca.

and well. vent got abit emotional which you can watch on this video i recorded =]

Vent while popping

Now baring in mind how upset these guys were i was pretty quickly banned from vent , but thanks to a blue "who will help out later" i managed to get ears into their vent under the name of a recruit in their pub channel =]
Pretty much what i would have expected "waah waaah waah.. why waah "
So i started to get bored and docked up , not realising that if i docked they could kick me so my bluey friend quickly told me to undock and hang around.

an hour passes... nothing ... another hour.. nothing . Then to call came through

[ 2009.01.17 23:26:00 ] ?????? > they are thinking of ganking you
[ 2009.01.18 00:14:23 ] ????? > soon
[ 2009.01.18 00:14:24 ] ????? > one sec

Thanks to fast info relay like this i managed to get them to come out 12man strong withh
1x cnr 1x mega 1x tempest .. and a 9 man blob of cruisers/frigates all orbiting at either 10km "out side blaster range" or hugging me .. so i couldnt do much

To combat this i kept docking to swap out drones/ammo type and managed to rack up 21kills in total in the one night unfortuantly i missed any bs's other than a mining abbadon you see dieing at the end of that movie .

But some of the funniest comments made were on the vent logs of my spying mate when they were raging about me .

"Im gonna get MC to set him red"
"Im going to put a post on eve-o forums to get other people to set him red AND convo every ceo of corps he joins"

and some pretty funny bits too where someone is just hearing about this and his intial reaction was "wait... is this the 17 year old ???" .. i think he was shocked at how much one "17 year old" could mess up their perfect world.

I do have alot of chat logs and 3 ventrillo logs so im just gonna throw up some of my favourite bits from them

QUOTES OF THE ANGERED BEARS >

2009.01.17 23:03:41 ] Mr McClain > Buune, did you target my dearest Dragchain?
This is my most memorable solo kill so far so i decided to put my thoughts to paper before i forget the whole experience.

After running several missions, i suddenly got the urge for some 1-vs-1 action. Its been a while since i last killed someone so i decided to go on a suicide run in my Maller. Low sec is just a few jumps away from my home system; i arrived at the first system, checked the people, and decided to leave. it was no good, 2-3 year old peeps of the same corp, too risky. same with the second system.

the third system only got one person in it; i scanned him and found out he was in a Myrmidon, ratting, and just a few days older than me (im 3 months old). Perfect!!

Turned on my DCII as i warped to his location, already my hands are trembling from the excitement. As i went out of warp i landed 6km from him. He was there, drones already out and finishing the last of the frigate rats in the belt. I targeted him, scram, web, nos, orbit and began to fire. Unfortunately, im using my Scorch crystals because i didnt expect to land this close to the target, i quickly changed to Conflagration and felt i lost some important seconds while doing so.

When his first volley hit me, almost 50% of my shield disappeared! 2nd volley and my shield completely went out! Shit! He deals major DPS! by this time i was thinking of warping out, but strangely, i cant!! WTF! then i noticed he was scramming and webbing me as well! OMG, he was armed for PvP and not for ratting.

I cant warp out. Ill have to fight my way thru if i want to save my ship. Then i remembered i was armor tanked, shield is nothing, maybe my tank will hold. I activated my repper. We exchanged fire for a few seconds and my tank did well, my repper is keeping my armor at 70% while his armor is slowly dropping. I did notice he was able to repair large amounts of damage.

Then a message popped up in local; and it distracted me. "Bye" he said. Huh? Am i losing? Was he that confident of winning? I checked my modules, the repper isnt working anymore! My cap is out and my armor is at 30%! His armor is also almost out and i quickly weighed my options. Should i turn off all weapons and modules to conserve cap and activate my repper? or keep on fighting? I decided to keep on fighting. Hell yeah! This is what im here for. Time to focus all my cap to my weapons, so i turned off my webber, he's in a battlecruiser, a webber wont affect him that much, next comes my warp disruptor, i left it up to him whether to stay and fight or warp out. If he stood and fight, which i know he will since he already assured himself he will win, its ok. If he warps out to save his ship, also saving my ship in the process, thats fine with me as well.

As i expected he continued fighting. My only consolation is knowing that DCII gives me 60% hull resistance. Looking at his ship, his armor is almost out too, so his cap may not be able to support his repper anymore. I noticed his weapons arent firing that often anymore, he must have switched them off to save cap for his warp disruptor and webber. His main source of DPS now are his drones.

As for me, my DCII continues to run and my medium nos. I switched all my crystals from Conflagration to Scorch since Scorch uses a lot less cap. Surprisingly, my medium nos is enough to keep all my weapons active.

I watched closely as we both entered structure; im dealing more damage.. i began to smile.. watching the red bar of his structure, 50%, 80%, 90%.. there was a slight pause.. i quickly checked my structure, 57%, all good... then poofff.. his ship blew up.. it was so sweet.. i said "GF" in local and warped off..
